For Stay and Look Young


Forever young. This phrase is popular not just because it's the title of a song. These two words have a very deep meaning for people who are searching for eternal youth. However, we humans have been accustomed to the aging process.
 
We see it as normal. Everyone has accepted the fact that at one point in our lives, we only have one destination and that's mortality.

If you are like some people though who want to stay and look young for as long as possible, here are a couple of tips that you might find helpful.

1. Get enough rest. 7 to 9 hours of sleep should be sufficient and this will depend on the activity you did on a particular day. You need sleep to let your body recover so if you did something very tiring it would be best to let your body rest at its fullest.

2. Eat healthy. Yep, the vegetarians got it right. No it doesn't mean you need to be a vegetarian to be healthy but your meal should be balanced every time you eat. Which means if you can lessen your trip to fast food chains that offer burger and fries, that can definitely help. Best way though is to eat fresh and perhaps your best option would be to cook from home.

3. No smoking. No wonder all the ads have government warning on them. Research has shown that tobacco has an adverse effects to the human body, often times to the lungs. Yet all the warnings fall to deaf ears. However, if you are serious about looking young and living long, stop smoking now.

4. Stop heavy drinking. Note the word heavy. Drinking wine on occasions and lightly has its benefits but abuse it and it will make your body age faster. Well in looks at least because if you are a heavy drinker, you get a drinker's tummy due to the excess alcohol converting to fats. Excessive drinking as well can have a heavy toll on your liver.

5. Limit your sun exposure. Too much exposure under the sun's rays can cause early wrinkles. Over exposure would also put you at risk of being a skin cancer candidate. I should mention, sun burn should be reason enough to make sure you stay under the shade.

6. Be stress free. Stress can make you look older than your age. The fatigue, the emotional involvement and the energy you've wasted on stressful situations will manifest in your body. Notice how bad your peer looks when they go through a stressful ordeal. You can save yourself some years by searching for work environment and relationships that are stress free.

7. Smile often. Smiling uses a lesser number of muscles than frowning. The positive energy that comes from a sincere smile has a good effect in our bodies. Laughter actually makes the body release hormones that are beneficial. No wonder laughter is the best medicine.

For each point that you keep for what's mentioned above, this shaves some number of years off your actual age in terms of your looks. Bottom line is, you need to take care of your body. Anything that's not used you lose it, anything that's abused, you lose it as well. So stay fit, happy and be young!
